Today I decided to listen to one last LinkedIn Learning video. This short podcast was very interesting and it gave me some very useful tips on how to Speak Confidently and Effectively. Since English is not my first language, I am constantly doubting my speaking skills, especially when I need to present works to my classmates. Fortunately, I am a quite outgoing person and I always try to push myself out of my comfort zone. This podcast has helped me understand that it is fully normal to be nervous when presenting, or pitching an idea to someone. Whilst giving a speech, it is always important to get to the point without diverging from it. It is essential to keep an adequate tone throughout the entirety of the speech (depending on the crowd) and make it somehow memorable. Using hand-gestures helps releasing the tension you might still feel, and will make you look more approachable and relatable. Also, another important tip is to engage with some eye contact with your audience! Doing so will create some sort of connection between yourself and who is listening. Always try to sell your ideas with a positive and vibrant attitude! this will show your commitment and your passion.

I will definitely try to use these tips in the next trimester. The Final Major Project is quickly approaching, and at some point I will most certainly have to pitch my idea to my class and teachers.
