Finally, I managed to assemble my Design Manifesto. It took me a while to decide the format I wanted it to be. Initially, I considered creating some sort of graphic (inspired by the Bauhaus school). Then, I also considered creating some sort of animation about it, but eventually, I made up my mind. The format I decided to create my Design Manifesto (which can be downloaded by clicking HERE) as if it was a vintage 1920s inspired newspaper. I decided to come up with the design of a newspaper, after researching on the Futurism Manifesto, written in 1909 by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and published on Le Figaro (picture below).

I decided to give the Manifesto/newspaper an Art Deco/Art Nouveau vibe, because I wanted to somehow showcase my ability in researching a specific time period and coming up with an authentic-looking aesthetic for it. I believe this will showcase my versatility as a designer and my technical skills. I designed this graphic combining my Photoshop skills with my Indesign skills, and I am extremely pleased with the result. The content of the Manifesto exposes my core beliefs as a designer and as a person, and it summarises all my passions, dreams, hopes and intentions for the future. I will use this Manifesto to motivate me whenever needed, or to push me towards the right direction (both in life and in my future career). To help me out with the layout of the newspaper/Manifesto, I looked up at many different sources. I intended to capture, in the most realistic way, the layout of an authentic newspaper. The main inspirations came from an erotic vintage journal I found on the internet. This inspired the lower part of my Manifesto (which includes the Dreams section and the inspirations). For the fonts, I mostly took my inspiration from the Daily Prophet (from the Harry Potter saga). Below some of the pictures I took inspiration from.

I really enjoyed designing this piece, because it was something extremely different from my usual works. I was quite surprised to understand how time-consuming designing a graphic like this could be, but I am definitely happy with the outcome.
