Through LinkedIn learning I earned the certificate of completion for watching a video on graphic design. This video was extremely useful and helpful to design my logo. through this video, I learned interesting facts about how a successful logo should look like and the story behind some of the most famous logos such as Apple and Vogue. The key aspect of designing a logo is the simplicity of it. The simpler the better. That is because it needs to be easy to be remembered. A logo needs to catch the eye of the viewer and must be remembered, whether for its elegance or its audacity. What I learned is that a logo doesn't necessarily need to be unique or coherent with the product. However, somehow, it needs to tell a story. Also, the shape, the color, and the type of the Logo have to be carefully thought because each element can drastically change the final result. For instance, if a logo is shaped like a square will symbolize precision and something that is man-crafted, whilst if it is enclosed in a circle will represent perfection and elegance. Furthermore, if the logo includes a text it has to be coherent with it and the link between them needs to feel natural. Another great tip is to always design a logo that can work in any size. For instance, on a smartphone, a logo can lose its visual strength (especially if it is made out of thin lines) so to adjust it is required to make some lines thicker for the smaller version so that it will look similar to the normal size one. A website I will check out is going to be Logo Lounge in which I can look around for some ideas.
